SOS
Back to KC Free Thought home page. Secular Organizations for Sobriety, also known as "Save OurSelves", provide a secular alternative to religiously based 12-step programs to counter addiction. While the name may imply an interest only in alcohol abuse the group deals with any addiction - alcohol, drug, eating, etc. The group will address these addictions without involving religious beliefs, but you do not need to be an atheist, agnostic or other free thinker to participate. Neither, do you need to make a reservation; just come on in if you are in need. Weekly Meeting: In Kansas City, the group meets on each Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at the Westport Coffeehouse (in the back meeting room), 4010 Pennsylvania, Kansas City, MO. If you would like further information, you can call Rebecca at 816-714-4002 or send an email to the webmaster. The group is listed as a Meetup at http://www.meetup.com/SOS-Kansas-City/. Further information about SOS, dealing with addiction and resources is available on the national website or international website.
