NATIONAL (U.S.) FREE THOUGHT GROUPS
If you operate a national group dedicated to advancing free thought or know of one that is not listed and you would like it added, please send an email request to Greg with all pertinent information. A suggested group description would be helpful, but please limit it to three or four lines.
American Atheists
- American Atheists is a national organization dedicated to the advancement of atheism.
American Humanist Association
- American Humanist Association is a national organization dedicated to the advancement of humanism.
Americans United for Separtion of Church and State
- Americans United for Separation of Church and State is a national group dedicated to preserving the separation of church and state. It is open to all persons believing in keeping church and state separate whether they are religious or non-religious. It is included here since its goals are consistent with the goals of freethinkers.
Atheist Alliance of America
- Atheist Alliance of America is a national organization dedicated to the advancement of atheism. Originally, Atheist Alliance of America was a component of the Atheist Alliance International. At some point it appears that they decided to separate. Its membership includes atheist groups as well as individual atheists.
Atheist Alliance International
- Atheist Alliance International is an international organization dedicated to the advancement of atheism. The American component of the Atheist Alliance International separated from AAI a while back and both are very active. It membership includes atheist groups as well as individual atheists.
Council for Secular Humanism
- Council for Secular Humanism is a national organization dedicated to the advancement of secular humanism.
Freedom from Religion Foundation
- The Freedom from Religion Foundation promotes separation of church and state and educates the public on matters of nontheism. Its activities include publication of a free thought newspaper, sponsors essay contests and engages in litigation related to church and state matter.
